Choose it for

  • Seals, gaskets, bumpers and dampers
  • Grips, covers and protective sleeves
  • Parts that must bend thousands of times without cracking
  • Anything that has to absorb a knock instead of transmitting it

Choose something else for

  • Anything rigid: it will flex under any load, by design
  • Fine sharp detail, corners come out slightly rounded
  • Thin unsupported spans, they sag while printing
  • The cheapest option, it prints slowly and costs the most per kilo

How it behaves on the printer

Flexible filament prints slowly, and that is the main thing it does to a price: the same shape takes roughly twice the machine time of PLA. Sharp overhangs are the weak spot because the material cannot hold itself up, so a design that would print in the air needs support or a redesign.

Compared with the others

  • PLA Rigid, sharp and cheap, for parts that must not move.
  • PETG Rigid but tough, the usual choice for a working part.
  • ASA Rigid and weatherproof, for outdoor parts that hold their shape.

What we make from it

Not sure which material fits? Choose it in the configurator and the price updates at once, or tell us how the part will be used and an engineer will suggest one.
